Bad ideas???

Carb on a stock S4 turbo manifold???

I have a long journey ahead with my project, but to keep this story short, I'm going to try to make an adapter to use a Holley carb on a stock turbo manifold (made to fit on a 6-port, thanks Aaron) to make it easier to transition to mega squirt later on.

What do you guys think??? I'm going to try it no matter what... but I just wanted some opinions. Bashing will be tolerated...

I don't see the problem with that combination. As with any 6 port engine lacking working aux port sleeves, there is a drastic reduction in low end torque below 4000 RPM.

I assume you are going to run this NA? Because tuning a blow through carb on a rotary is an exercise in rebuilding engines...

Yes Aaron,

I do plan to run this N/A and as I write this the entire plan is diminishing...There really is no point in doing this since I do have a RB intake for a 6-port. I really was thinking about making a smooth transition to F.I. while still having the Turbo bolted up and plumed for exhaust but, leaving the intake open until the F.I. was ready. But i don't know if thats a good idea anymore..I already make a nice header for N/A and I don't want to chop it up. HHHmmm... What to do now....I really don't like carbs and I can't let go of my love for boost...

I will continue this project as is, with a stock turbo (since the fit is perfect) and take the rest one piece at a time, using the stock turbo LIM and UIM, maybe trying blow through, but the goal is MEGA SQUIRT. Then re-do the intake and Plenum for more room in the engine compartment.... Wish me luck...

Why would putting a carb on speed up the transition to megasquirt. Does the engine run with the stock equipment? The only way I could see it helping is if you don't know that all the hardware is good(engine fuel system etc) and even then, the carb would mask any problems with the fuel system due to it's different requirements.

I did make the mistake of putting MS on a car with an unknown engine, fuel system, and electrical system. It was an infuriating year chasing my tail, nearly every problem ended up NOT being related to tuning or the MS(one was, but it was caused by a faulty voltage reg frying things in the MS, they would intermittently fail).
