Back Windshield Compatibility

Hello, I was getting leaks in my car ( Imported to the US from Japan 1997 mazda Rx7) but I didn't know where from, so I decided to get the seals replaced on the windshields, guy said front one would probably break and rear one would be okay. I was fine paying for a new front windshield, well the time came, front one of course came out completely fine, and as is expected with my luck, the rear one broke. Guy said he'd pay to fix it, but since they are so hard to find, it's been 2 months, and now my car is molding to hell, I'd really like to know my options to fix the rear windshield before I get it mold treated. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The rear is tempered glass so he really had to suck to break it. Your best bet is to buy a used hatch assembly and have the glass removed from the frame to put into yours. It's a pain to ship glass and you'll probably have a hard time finding someone to remove glass only locally instead of selling you a whole hatch..

Thanks for the response! Would you happen to know if a hatch assembly from a 93-95 would work for a JDM 1997? That seems to be my only hope if I don't wanna pay 4 grand for custom glass.

If there is a difference it would just be with wiring which you could change over. Mazda did not change the body design so the hatch frame and glass is the same for the model run.
