IL back to RX-7s after 10 years.

Hi all.

I am a 10 year honda master tech at the local dealership. I started looking for another fun car build after I sold my motorcycle. I did build a 1985 nissan 300zx n/a to turbo from the frame up.

http://www.88hybrid.com/forum/viewto...drick301<br />

After it sat for awhile I wanted a motorcycle so I sold it. Now the wife wants kids so I sold the bike and found...

‎1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II One owner california car 64,000 Miles mint interror near mint exterror. thing sat in a garage under a cover for the last 9 years. The owners son was selling it but it would crank and not start. I talked him down on the price and towed it home. put new gas in it tonight and it now starts

I put new plugs in it today with fresh gas. Now when she starts she starts right up to 3,000 rpm smooth as silk then slowley idles back down and dies out.

If i try and give it gas it boggs and sluggish ly tryes to rev up.

I know the vac lines are brittle as hell and i cleaned off some very corroded ground wires.

still stuck... im thinking its electrical. anyone wanna point me in the right direction?

Welcome back, the rotors missed you

Honestly I'm amazed that a rotary that sat for 9 years would start up simply by changing the gas. My first guess is a clogged fuel filter, but you're the mechanic right?

The car sat for 9 years, and you just put fuel into it and expected it to work?!

All the trash in the fuel system has probably clogged the injectors. And fuel filter. And pump.
