Back Pressure / 6 port Actuators?

Hi i have a 87 NA 6port and i was wondering what would happen if i was to happen if i changed my OEM cat with a hollowed out one or a presilencer because from what i understand, the 6port actuators open with back pressure from the exhaust? Would a hollow cat or presilencer change the way the actuators work (when they open) or would there be enough back pressure from your mufflers to open the 5th and 6th ports? ive heard of people removing the actuators and keeping them open, but i'd like to keep mine working for bottom end...
Thanks in advance!

As long as the actuators functioned before, they still will with a hollowed out cat.

Oh awesome thanks. I thought back pressure would affect it.

the hollow part still creates back pressure.( I got the Tshirt..lol)
The actuators only need a couple psi to activate.
