Have a 1989 rx7 convertible with automatic transmission. Strange thing is, it shifts fine when engine is cold. When engine gets warm, the transmission will not shift into second till about 5,000 rpm. Took it to the dealer, they put in new parts, charged me a lot of money, still not working properly. Any suggestions.

have you tried shifting it manually into second? normally it is a sticky governor that causes late shift issues or a throttle valve(throttle cable to your transmission) out of adjustment. it's possible the cable is broken and you can't see it, personally i have nearly 0 experience with automatic transmissions in RX7s, i have only worked on one in about 10,000 that i worked on because they are that rare.
