As a general rule, a tight picture without any details about the car leads to lost time just figuring out what we are dealing with - especially when the pic is rotated 90 degrees from real orientation. However, in this case, it's pretty clear. Looks like the front of the throttle linkage in the neighborhood of the throttle position sensor (and rotated 90 deg clockwise).

There should be screw from the 'right' (top of the engine) side of the right lever that screws into the 'left' (bottom) lever. There should be a spring in between to keep tension on the screw threads. For S4 (86-88) this is shown on page 1-C5 of the parts fiche as component of the 'Lever Set, Throttle Body'. There are not individual part numbers listed for the screw or spring.

Looks like someone removed the throttle position sensor, unless it was you.

Don't think so. Photo is rotated 90 deg clockwise. Looks to me like the TPS is still there behind the white zip tie. I'll try to snag a photo of my linkage tomorrow.

Yes you are right. Since the picture is rotated it threw me off. I thought the 2 open 10mm holes were for the s4 TPS, after looking where you said I see the TPS. My mistake.

To the OP if you unplug your TPS the car should still run but it will run richer then normal since the sensor isn't plugged in but since you are missing the adjustment screw anyway I don't think you'll notice a difference. Just an option, I had to do that once for a week on my first FC until the new TPS came in the mail.
