Battery Relocation
kru510,
It really depends on where you want your battery to be located. The most popular location seems to be inside one of the rear bins. My battery's in the trunk. I don't like stating the obvious, but it's important that the battery is well secured, and I recommend a sealed battery to avoid any acid spills, but it's really up to you. Fuses and circuit breakers will be your call. You should have at the very least a 600CCA battery if it's going to be in the trunk. You're going to need at the very least a 4-gauge cable running to the front of the car, with another 4-gauge grounded somewhere onto the car itself. By "very least" I mean a 600CCA battery is the smallest battery, and 4-gauge is absolutely the skinniest cable you can use and still expect your car to start on cold Bay Area mornings.
Once you relocate your battery, you'll have more surrounding air to help cool your engine, a cleaner-looking engine bay, and much better weight distribution as a result of removing 35 lbs from in front of the front wheels.
I work and go to school 7 days a week, so won't be able to help with a relocation. However, my best advice would be to search for some pics to see what other people are doing. Do a lot of consideration before you start (i.e. how much grocery room do you want, do you also want a sub box in the trunk?) as this is something you want to do once and get it right the first time. Think it through, and this is actually a relatively simple mod.
Good luck,
Josh
