Anybody have any experiance with Psycho apex seals?
Anybody have any experiance with Psycho apex seals?
Hey guys, I finally got my ride, 88 AE FC with S5 13b and a bunch of goodies on it already. Now since its sat for 4yrs I've pretty much decided to rebuild the engine. Reason is the internal condition is unknown after 4yrs, I want to half bridge it, considering other upgrades like oil baffle and oil psi reg, etc. Since its apart and I'm scared of accidental detonation and I really, really don't want to shatter the mazda seals and kill more parts, I'm gun shy on using them. Now I know everyones looking for the perfect seals and there's always a compromise but I'm looking for feedback on these. I'm gonna stay away from seals that shatter like mazdas and ceramics. I also don't want them chewing my housings up. I chatted to Steve the owner of SDR Motorsport in Australia, and like his claims. He uses them in bone stock rebuilds to his 7 sec Datto and not a lick of trouble from anyone.
Nobody? Not even word on the street or sombodys 2nd cousins, uncles nephew heard about them? I found out about them seein Psycho seal stickers on alot of SDR and some other cars on rotorg33k's youtube channel. Absolutly hooked to it, figured im not the only dude.

i just heard of the psycho seals & im acually looking around for info on them. i heard goopy or als seals are great but i wanna try to find more info on the psycho seals
Well if you do, by all means let us know! Some strong running cars in Oz with these seals. I emailed Steve Dimech @ SDR and says every motor they build (unless customer says otherwise) gets these seals, bone stock to full race and he hasn't had an issues. Course, nobody is above suspicion so i'd like to hear owners thoughts aswell. Im pretty sure ill be running these unless I hear otherwise reasons not to.
