Another Bouncy Idle on 93 Rx7

Hello everyone, Ive had this bouncy idle for a year now so i finally have decided to work on it. I read and followed every TPS (how to adjust) on this forum and it was very helpful and easy. I used the manual adjusting using safety pin readings.

My first reading:
3F (Narrow range) Closed: 1.49 Closed to open 1.0-5.0 Wide open: 4.96
3G (Full Range) Closed: 0.653 Close to open 0.4-4.3 Wide open 4.32

My actual adjusted reading after warmed up:
3F (Narrow range) Closed: 1.18 Closed to open 1.0-5.0 Wide open: 4.96
3G (Full range) Closed: 0.51 Closed to open 0.4-4.3 Wide open: 4.22

After i got it adjusted, started it and it held up its idle at 2500 rpm like its warming up for 1 minute or so....then it started bouncing up and down again at 1k-2k rpm...TPS seems to be in spec now...Any Ideas what could be the problem? Please help...thanks everyone

Could it be that the coolant system needs burping?
I got this kind of behaviour happening, but on a V6 engine.
You should check coolant levels first.

+1....vacuum leak. Systematically check ALL vacuum lines. Then consider T-body to UIM and UIM to LIM gaskets.

Yes, after a few years, the newest rx7 is still over 10 years old already. USDM ones are nearly all over 20.

Hello, get yourself a can of carb cleaner and while the engine is running, spray any area that you suspect can be leaking vacuum. Pay attention to the LIM to keg connection as that gasket sometimes blows out. It may be difficult to get spray to all the areas due to the air pump blocking the front portion.

When you spray the area that leaks vacuum, the idle will change immediately for a brief period, then resume to its current state after the carb cleaner is consumed.

This is the easiest method short of getting a smoke machine.

Good luck
