Airbag warning

My airbag warning light started flashing with 2 flashes at a time. Sometime intermittent. Seems if I pull fuse and reinstall it works for a while. Anybody know what gives?

I haven't looked into an FD system before. The Chassis CPU for the FC is very prone to damage from capacitor failure. I posted a write up about that a while back and fixed a handful of them. At this point, FDs are going to start feeling the capacitor rot too. First things first, go through the procedure above and test all the sensors and narrow down the problem. If your sensors seem to be in spec, and you can point to the airbag module, then it might be worth cracking it open and having a look. Sometimes signal filter capacitors fail, but its usually the power filter caps that keep getting hammered by transient voltages that fail. If you are repairing/recapping, all old electrolytics should be replaced. The 20 year rule is a pretty good one as that's when the lower end of qc'd capacitors start dying. If its 30+ years, they are a problem waiting to happen. I replaced all the electrolytics in my FC a few years ago, ECU included, and it helped considerably overall.

Run through the tests, and let us know what you find.
