air pump removal
air pump removal
Going through old posts I see that if the air pump is removed then a second belt should be added to the alternator to make sure the water pump is driven correctly ('83 with no AC). Have people run into problems with the extra load on the alternator causing alternator bearing damage?
If the air pump belt is removed without removing the air pump, do other changes need to be made for the car to run well?
On the '83 I picked up the belts are shot and need to be replaced. Eventually I plan on tackling removing the rats nest, but don't know when I will get to it. I don't want to buy a an air pump belt if I will just be taking it off in the future.
