air pump

i removed my filter box and instlled a cone on my 87 fc rx7 gxl and now the air ump has an annoying tickig sound i will be doing an emission delete etc but was just curious how would the water pump react with now only one belt off of the alternator? like is the one belt sufficient enuf? i just want the sound gone asap as i wait for the double sheave pulley for alternator.

thanks Brad

If you still have the clutch fan, you'll need the dual pulley, no question. But without the clutch fan you could run the single for a while as you wait for the dual pulley to arrive.

You're hearing the noise on the air pump because the stock airbox muffled it previously.

Note that you need a small filter for the air pump if you intend to run it for a while.

Additionally, that cone filter is just going to cost you horsepower unless you build a proper cold air box. The factory intake is already a cold air intake.

When you do the emissions removal, do not remove the BAC valve and cold start thermowax system.
