AB Advice needed - RX-7 sitting for years

I have a 2nd generation RX-7 that hasn't run for over 10 years. I need some advice before I get this thing going again.

- Will the rotor belt need to be changed?

- all fluids need to be drained I'm guessing?

- Any other advice before I turn the key?

Appreciate any help.

1) What's a rotor belt? If you're thinking timing belt, it doesn't exist.

2) Drain all fluids including the gas tank. Replace all rubber hoses and lines, as well as filters before trying to start the engine.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I meant rotor seal not rotor belt. I had an 88 and the rotor seal went on it which destroyed the engine, so I'm mindful of that being an issue. Not sure if that's a concern with it sitting for so long.

Still not following. Do you mean apex seal? They're the metal seals at each rotor tip. Replacing internal seals means tearing down the whole engine for a rebuild. You should overhaul the fuel system, cooling system and do a tune up, then see how it runs.

It is a good idea to try to turn the eccentric shaft pulley by hand before trying to start it too. If it doesn't turn it might be carbon locked from sitting. There are ways to dissolve the carbon and make it so the e-shaft pulley/rotors turn again. I have heard people use Seafoam or ATF and let it sit for a day.
