acceleration trouble. omp?

Hey guys, hoping maybe I can get some help with my, new to me, 91 rx7 13b non Turbo. I bought car with known acceleration problem. Guy I bought it from researched all he could and he suggest his last known possibility is the OMP. Car idles fine, sputters while throttling in neutral and falls flat on its face if accelerator is pushed more than 1/2 inch while under load. Can be driven with very little pressure on throttle. If you step further on it the motor seems to die out until you release it and then its right back again!!?? Previous owner has replaced most all sensors. After replacing ECU it ran fine for a bit and then problem cane back. I read through your forums and I also see some mention of OMP causing issues but none were explained quite like mine. I looked at oil lines from OMP and noticed no oil in two of them, spotty in another and fourth one was full. Any suggestions, opinions or advice??

Pull codes to confirm MOP/OMP failure. Replace pump and possibly ECU.

I will try to pull codes but will they be there considering I've had battery out and no check engine light has been present yet?

You may have to drive it around for it to set the codes again.

s5s have something called 'limp' mode. the ecu goes into a safety map when the OMP or other electrical sensors arent working right. so pull them codes!
