!985 RX-7 electrical problem

Hey guys. I have a 1985 RX-7 that i am restoring from top to bottom. The problem i am having is i just installed a brand new ignition switch. After i hooked up my battery i tried to start the car. It cranked for about 3 seconds and then it stopped. Now i am not getting any sign of life from it. Not even any of the cluster lights come on now. The headlights still work so i know the battery is getting power to the car. i checked all my fuses and they all seem good. Any ideas? thanks

Remove, clean, and tighten all connections at the battery and the starter.

If that checks out, then test the fusible links on the driver's side strut tower.

If that checks out, then move on to the electrical connections at the fusible link housing.
