93 smokes on start up

So i'm a major LSX engine guru some guy is wanting my chevy and is willing to trade me his 93 rx7... \

only issue is it blows a blueish white puff upon start up... He had the motor rebuilt at poncho performance in KS... It is street ported and is untuned but does come with a power fc...

This is a pretty common thing to happen since these cars start really rich in fuel. It's exacerbated when the car hasn't started for a bit.

Don't they all smoke due to pre mix on start up?

rx7s run there air fuel mixture rich this could also mean oil is getting into the compression and burning the oil on the spark. this is also based on my limited knowledge so I would double check my information. mine also has the smoke coming out and as far as I know its always done that I would look further into this and contact who ever rebuilt the engine.

IIRC....
*A little blue smoke on start-up could be pre-mix, but also could be oil control rings. Nothing particularly alarming about either.
*Lingering or continued smoke during idle or cruising with no load is oil control rings.
*Smoke on acceleration is usually sourced to the turbos.
*Brief white smoke (steam) (usually accompanied by a stumbling idle that clears just as quickly) is a coolant seal failure.
*Black smoke....well I think everyone knows what that is.

"White smoke" = steam. Smell it. Burning coolant has a distinctive and vaguely sweet smell. If that's it, see above.
