CA 93 RX-7 Automatic Transmission to Manual Transmission Wiring

I bought a complete total low mileage 5-speed and changed everything over from automatic except the wiring. The engine does have the manual wiring loom on it. Everything else in the car as far as wiring is automatic. I have the under dash around the front wiring loom but it looks too difficult to change if not really necessary. I compared the two wiring looms and see there are some differences. What I am trying to do right now is hook up the clutch interlock switch. It has about a 8 gauge black with dark red stripe wire and baby blue with white stripped wire coming from it. In the automatic loom I see a ten to twelve gauge black and red wire that goes into the center of the connection. This is one gauge smaller and traced it to the starter. In the manual the center wire is baby blue and white. I am pretty sure I am going to change the black and red wire and connect it to the interlock. On the manual loom the black and red wire go to the interlock an doesn’t go any further. I do see some baby blue and white heavy gauge wires right there by the clutch brake pedal to the left by the solenoid that both the auto and manual have. So I am thinking I need to splice into the baby blue or just run the other side of the red and black wire. Anyway, it would be nice to talk to someone that could direct me to what needs to be done to get this car on the road. Sad thing I already have a couple hundred hours in it. ECU has been changed to manual also. There are a lot of empty plugs by the ECU, should I be concerned?

There are a few good threads on the topic in the 3rd gen FAQ thread.
