I have recently got a 93 FD and the interior door latch mechanism was broken off, well long story short now the door is locked and will not unlock. I have tried giggling the unlock rod after removing the exterior lock assembly but it seems jammed. The inside and out side release lever are easy to push and seem to be working but the lock is jammed in the lock position. Is there any way to get the door open so I can replace or fix the lock mechanism without destroying part of the door? I am in South Korea and this FD was brough over here buy someone in the Army so it is one the few FD's over here. I havent found a Mazda dealer in country that I could take it too and the specialty shop I visited didnt instill any confidence in there ability to fix this sort of problem. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.
