The same thing happened to my FD once. It could either be carbon build up making your Apex seals stick when hot or bad apex seal springs. Mine was the worse of the two and ended up tearing it down and replacing the apex seal springs, problem solved
Try steaming the motor first. You never know, and its harmless. I can explain how if you've never done it.
