Exclamation 90 fc gtu not starting

So my 90 rx7 wont start, I just replaced the starter and its still having the same problem.

When you turn the key you can see the battery has power, I can push start it and it runs fine.

When you try to start it, it does nothing. And I mean nothing. No clicks, no sounds, no crank.

I checked the fuses and i think theyre okay but im not too sure, Id like to replace them but i need to know where I can find them and which ones I need.

Any one have any ideas?

Start with all major battery connections and starter connections.
If you go to clean the cables at the starter, make sure that you disconnect the battery FIRST,as the Positive is Live to the starter and you don't want to short anything out down there.

Your Clutch Interlock Switch is probably the cause. The switch is located at the very top of the clutch and has two wires, one is Black/Green and the other is Black/Red. Do not confuse this switch w/the switch located lower on the clutch pedal as this switch does not have the wire colors as stated above and if it doesn't have a B/R and B/G wire then it cannot be the Interlock Switch. So, jumper these two wires together and try to normally start the car.

Well i tried the clutch switch and that wasn't the problem, so i plugged it back in and i sat there just turning my key over and over and the car finally started making a clicking noise and then started to turn over.

It wouldnt turn on though, and i tried jumping it while turning the key again and after a few minutes of sitting there waiting for something to happen it finally clicked again and started up this time with out turning over so much.

The battery definitely isnt dead because i have a brand new alternator and a brand new battery in it and its showing proper voltage. It sounded like cranking it over for a while was draining it though, hence why i jumped it.

Im thinking theres either something wrong with the ignition lock & key or maybe even the distributors and wires. Any kind of response from the car was REALLY intermittent. Im gonna try getting some new ones soon and let you know what happens. If nothing works then its definitely gotta be this ignition, i cant remember if it was a used part or not when it was replaced.

If the starter does not engage then it cannot be the coils or CAS (there is no distributor on this car). The starter is part of a different circuit. If the starter does turn over but the car does not start it could be caused by a slow moving starter or too much fuel in the engine resulting from continually trying to start the car or other possible items. The B/R wire of the Interlock Switch must have voltage w/key to start and the pedal depressed. If it does not then it's either the ignition switch or the Interlock Switch or the Starter Cut Relay. If the B/R wire does have voltage as denoted then the problem lies thereafter these systems. Depending on whether you have the factory alarm or not dictates whether the B/R wire goes through the Starter Cut Relay (part of the alarm system). If you do have the alarm then this relay could be the cause of your problem. This relay lies before the Interlock Switch on those cars equipped w/the alarm system.

I think could be the ignition spray some contact cleaner and make sure its clean ye if you have sticky keys maby that will cause it or there is no ground most likely how did it happen
