I have been working on an 89 non-turbo recently. It has a new battery, spark plugs and cables. It will crank but very slow when it is. I know you have to check Fuel, air, and spark which I have. I was planning on a compression test but every where I've looked it says to get the engine to operating temp. So does anyone have any tips on how to go about running a compression test on an engine that won't start right now.

Would the anti theft be screwed up if the head lights flash while tring to start

 

The alarm system would prevent the car from turning over if it were doing its job.

Yea i got it started today. It was the fuel pump. When i was listening for it i heard power going to it but didn't think of the pump itself.

 

Well I was asking cuz I have an 88 and I can't get it to start but, I already replace the whole fuel system.

 

What all have you checked?

Has it ran since the engine swap? If it is the one with a sylvia heart in it you refering to.

 

I will keep this in mind.
