88 vert 5-piston brake question

88 vert 5-piston brake question

Heya folks, I have a 1988 RX-7 Convertible, with 5-lug wheels (4 piston caliper).

I am swapping the brake pads out, and I brought the pads with the thin metal piece to a place to get them replaced, and the guy threw those pieces away along with the brake pads, saying new ones will come with them.

This is what that old piece looks like:


Here is what the brake pads I got with the new clip look like:

is this going to be a problem that I lost the old ones?

If those pads are for the rear of the car yer golden, though i can tell you for sure they are wrong for the front of the car that has 4 piston calipers.

Bleh. I bought it online and it said "RX-7 88 convertible front wheels" but you're definitely right. Greaaat.
