Pick up a Haynes manual or download the free factory service manual (FSM) online. Both will have procedures for adjusting idle speed up.

Search for vacuum leaks, or leaks at the intake tube / tb.

I'm having the same problem. Except mine runs real rough while holding the gas and smokes like its flooding. I've checked multiple things(injectors, vacuum, etc). And i'm still stumped. I got it to idle once earlier today and running fine then i had to fix my clutch switch and put new plugs in and it went back to the same crap. My fuel pressure was too high at one point though. Which was part of my problem. But its still messed up.

i think it may be a vac line because wen i got the car it need a new turbo gasket so i did it myself mind u that the car started and held a idle under its own power but was real rough. so after i put the new gasket n put every thing back 2 gether it started doing this ****.

Ahh I see. Well I'd check any of them that you could of accidently pulled off.

Mine started after I put on my t2 AFM after my t2 swap. But the parts weren't bad I checked them all and mixed and matched a bit to trouble shoot but still no luck.

Then I checked fuel injectors for leaks, replaced plugs, fixed fuel pressure etc.
It finally held idle today with no smoke and not harsh it was purrin. Then i fixed my clutch switch and put some new plugs in and it went right back to the crap.
