87 s4 N/A Trouble

hey guys, i was driving my FC today and stoped at a light, all of sudden couldn't shift into any gear but second, they all were grinding. Can't drive my car right now because of it! It's my only vehicle and have a long drive to work on Tuesday! Anyone have any ideas? It did make some weird noise before in 1st 3rd and 4th it was kind of like a cracking noise! any help much appreciated! Thanks!

sounds like the pilot bearing gave up.

got fluid in the res? if so check for any leaks and try and bleed the system. hope its something simple like that.

sounds like its not diengaging the clutch enough due to master cyl. or slave issues,i think if its the pilot bearing it will make some noise when you put foot pressure on the clutch pedal,if you have the haynes manual it has good basic troubleshooting section in front of book

Thanks alot guys. Will try bleeding the system today! if that doesnt help i will replace master/slave cylinder and lines! Should i post a video or something?

no luck bleeding it! i think might be input shaft bearing, i want to drop the tranny today and find out. how would i go about actually dropping it without a trans jack?
