87 rx7 wont start

so last week the rain caused a flood by my house. my rx 7 was in the street when it happened. i don't know how deep it got, but it look like it was above my axcel. water got inside the car through a drain plug that wasn't tight. i took the ecm form under the carpet on the passenger side and let it dry. The car turns over but wont start.

realy dont know where to start.

Are you getting spark?

I'm guessing that if the ECU got wet it is probably damaged, but it could be something else.

How does it not start? Does it just turn over and do nothing else or does it struggle to try and start and fail? You said you're getting spark, what about fuel? After a while of cranking if you pull the plugs they should be wet with gas.

. Its been turning over, but sound like there is no spark. so i got a used ecu, and installed it. sounded the same but after a few tries it sounded like it wanted to start, by turning over faster. but it still never starts.

In the earlier post you said you had spark. When you crank it over for a while there should be un-burnt fuel on the spark plugs after you take them out. Do this to confirm you're getting fuel.

Lok up DEFLOODING..and try that.
The "turning over faster" leaves me to believe that is absolutely flooded with fuel and you need to get that out of the internals, get fresh or clean plugs in and then try to start it up.
The Watery Ecu is most likely Toast so it is a good thing you got another working ECU.

ecu is probally gone but lets hope for the best, probally flooded engine if you been cranking on it. try pulling out the fuel injector fuse with the car off and key out, try starting it up for mb 4-7 secs, pop the fuse back in after you turn the car off and key out
"for electrical reasons" should burn up some of the gas and might start. Flooding of this engine can also be caused by quick on & off's and not driving it around til it warms up
