Question 87 Rx-7 Oxy Sensor Question

I'm not really car tech savvy but i manage. I want to get a Air/Fuel gauge for my rx-7. Do i have Wideband or Narrowband? Everything is stock. Non-turbo. Also, any suggestions on Pillar pods that fit well? was looking at glowshift. Thanks guys! (and girls)

Factory O2 sensors are narrow band on the 91 and under models.

Easy way to check= single wire O2 sensor is more than likely a narrow band.

A gauge on the stock O2 sensor with the emissions system in tact will tell you if the car is very rich, very lean, or in closed loop. But if you don't know how to read it, the gauge will tell you nothing.

If you want to add a wideband sensor and gauge, you can weld on a new O2 bung or use the oem one. OEM sensor mostly works under cruise/steady state driving. It will improve fuel economy during cruise. Other than that it's generally worthless. If you're looking to improve fuel economy, watch the shift light in the dash cluster and find a vacuun gauge that has the red/green/yellow range bands.
