FL 87 NA rebuild

I bought a 1987 fc for 500$. The guy planned on putting a v8 in the car (glad I saved her) the engine and tranny are out of the car, but I plan on rebuilding the na, maybe a port, and getting it back into the car. The guy had cut the wiring harness from the motor it looks like and I'm not sure how to go about that problem. If anyone has any advice or suggestions please let me know! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Buy a replacement harness. If you're talking about the harness that plugs into the ECU and most of the engine sensors, that would be the "emission harness". When you have more posts, you may use the classifieds to post a want ad.

If they just cut the harness on the engine bay side, try and pick up a wiring schematic either from someone here or any major shop will have the schematics readily available to print.

Kind of a continuation of nakedbees post

If you look in the FAQ thats in the 2nd gen specific forum I believe there is actually links to a shop manual of sorts that has the wiring diagrams and etc.

I would suggest a new harness though, that way you don't have to worry about a 24 year old wiring harness breaking from age and a spark setting the car on fire.

I've actually decided to go with the turboII swap instead. I have the stock ecu and wiring harness pulled out of the car already. Should I replace the harness that goes from the battery to the alternator also?

Source a used NA EM harness, and leave all of the other NA harnesses in place: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/s4-na-turbo-swap-details-813825/.

Thank you, I was actually deciding on either a t2 harness or the NA. I guess I'll be getting the NA since i can find them for way cheaper.

Also I don't have to worry about emissions, so what are some main components I could remove?
I searched but couldn't really find much.
