86 fc3s coming back to life question
So I've been given my in laws 86 fc and it has been sitting in the garage for a little over 11 years do to it loosing power while driving. At the time they couldn't get a mechanic to figure out what the problem was so its been in hibernation. First the engine has 86k miles on it. It's NA and when I tried to start it would want click over but no go. So I then sprayed carb cleaner in the intake to give a boost and it would want to start but would not stay running. So I listen to see if the fuel pump would turn on and nothing. So I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is not working and for the power loss I'm pretty confident that's related to the under powered alternator. So my questions are if a new fuel pump gets it running is there anything else to worry about other then adding new sparks, oil and fluids since its been sitting for so long? And upgrading the alternator to the FD does any one no of a write up or video on that? Only found stuff for the Taurus upgrade. Fuel pump does not turn on w/key to on unless the fuel check connector is jumpered (jumpering it will serve two purposes as it will allow you to see if the pump is turning on and it will also help override a feature in the AFM, which might be causing the car to die. There's a decent chance the injectors are clogged. And a large vacuum leak would cause the engine to quickly die after starting.

It's on the passenger side of the engine between the engine and the strut tower. Plug is Yellow surrounded by a Black rubber boot. The two wires in the plug are Black and a Brown. Plug is part of the emission harness which feeds the boost sensor. Plug is usually hidden under the bottom of the harness.

There's a lot to do with a car that has been sitting 11 years. Unfortunately, by running it you have probably pushed a lot of trash through the fuel system and possible damaged the engine. See this link for more info on what needs to be done:
