WA 85 12A - Machining

Hi, this is my first rotary rebuild, and I am taking the engine apart this weekend. What do you recommend I have machined? Like the front and back iron, I am thinking about having them cleaned, but should I get them turned/polished on surface area where the rotor oil rings ride?

I figure I will need to get new housing since the engine had 100k+, but I am hoping the rotors are still in good shape.

Any advise is welcome. Thanks. - Denzil

pull it all apart and check/ measure every thing, 12a housings are nla (no longer avalible) so you are going to need to check them for chrome flaking and chatter marks first.

I have seen rebuilt housings at various sites. Is this why some folks go with 3mm apex seals (due to resurfacing)?

Thanks,

12a engines have 3mm seals, most 13b engines have 2mm seals, for the rebuilt housings they grind the crome smooth again, it fixes the chattermarks but will not fix chrome flake. go to pinapleracings web site and start watching the vidios they have about inspecting the parts and rebuilding the engine
