Is the lock set for this year unique; or, will a lock set from an 89, 92, whatever, also fit...at least temporarily - as they are easier to find at a yard.
back in the day, there was a generic Ford lock that fit these cars (they were like $20 or $30, something like that), a friend put me onto that tidbit because people used to break into these cars left and right (where we lived). i know they worked in the doors, but i don't know about the trunk.
however, seeing as you need a complete set, you might as well just get the actual Mazda stuff.

I've never owned an FB, but I thought all the 1st gen locksets were the same. I know the ignition lock housing is different SA to FB. Anyways, the spring clip you picture only went on the rear hatch lock cylinder. The doors used a wire keeper (see pic)
Although the spring clip fits the door cylinders, you might have a hard time getting it secured inside the door. There isn't much room and the wire clips allow you to push or pop them over the OD of the cylinder to secure them, instead of sliding it on from the side like the flat spring clip.
For a whole set, you can try Riggs Rotary: riggsvintagemazda@gmail.com or call Bob Rhinehart: 717-405-6860 They deal more in car salvages. I know Bob is a nice guy and is currently parting out a low milage 1980. r
The lock set for an 84 car is likely to be unique, and it may not be compatible with lock sets from other years or models. However, there is a chance that some parts of the lock set, such as the key cylinder or door lock mechanisms, may be compatible with other years or models of the same make.
To determine whether a lock set from a different year or model will fit your 84 car, you will need to compare the parts and specifications of both sets. You can do this by looking up the part numbers and specifications for both sets, and comparing them to see if they are the same or similar.
It's worth noting that using a lock set from a different year or model may cause compatibility issues, and some parts may not work as intended or fit properly. It's always best to use a lock set that is specifically designed for your car's make and model, if possible.
If you're having trouble finding a lock set for your 84 car, you may want to try contacting a specialty auto parts supplier or a locksmith who specializes in vintage or classic cars. They may be able to help you find the right parts for your car.
As a follow up, I did run across one of those wire clips that secure the door cylinders to the door skin. P/N 0223-58-961
I believe they still may be available from a dealer.
