83 Wiring question
I have recently been given an 83 Rx7 that was on its way to being converted to a race car- Full cage, completely gutted, Eibachs, coilovers, Koni's, modified full length panhard bar, GSL rear with 4.44's, big front bar, Hayashi's, etc.....
The car came without any wiring, so I pulled a complete harness and want to use it to run this car. I am only wanting to run the car and the lights with it, and strip all the rest. I need to know if there is a post with schematics somewhere I haven't been able to find yet on this site, or do I just need to go and buy the Haynes manual?
I am going old school, with a JLC(Kent, WA.) street port 12a, header, Holley, elec., electric fan, lightweight flywheel, 4 puck disc, centerforce, 5 speed, pre-silencer, racing muffler, and something fairly big on the back to quiet it some for the street. She's not going to be pretty, but she'll be pretty quick, and a rip to drive. See the pics, and let me know if theres a special place I can look for just the print out.

If you end up going with stock wiring harnesses for the engine you need to know something VERY IMPORTANT - The 83 engine harness is a special type of deal. The 83 uses the newer 84/85 style accessory hookups (alternator, etc) and the older style 79/82 main harness plug. So since you have an 83 you need to use an 83 harness. I know this for a fact since I have an 83

This is a complete Frankenstien project, with no wiring to begin with, so the 83 specific thing won't come into play, as far as I can tell. I've plugged in all the connections to the engine parts with the harness I pulled out of another 1st gen, with no visible issues. I just want to make it run, and strip out all the stereo/heater contrlo/interior lighting stuff, and keep the lighting circuits live, as this will be a street car that is occasionally autocrossed.
Thanks for replying. Any help is just that-help.
