Hey there. Ive been working for a while now on slowly putting a old 83 rx7 together. When I got the car it had no starter. I just have purchased a starter. I have no clue where this starter goes or where the wiring goes on it. I searched the forum and googled this and found nothing. Just looking for a helping hand to at least tell me where the heck this thing needs to go.

Hey, new owner of an '83 RX, we also are going to replace the starter. It's located on the driver's side of the engine down on the bottom, probably get at it from underneath the car. If it's an automatic there is an extra part that has to come off, if a stick it just has the wires and 2 bolts. As for what wire goes where- I haven't researched or been able to look at mine yet. Usually a wire comes off the battery. I suggest you at least find an old Chilton's or Hayne's manual for your RX. When we purchased the RX the previous owner gave us the copy he had. Ideally you would want to find the shop manual.
