82 FB 12A to 13B T swap.
Hi I am planning on restoring an old FB, it has a blown 12A motor, I plan to put in a 13B turbo. From what I understand I will need to put on a front cover and oil pan from a GSL-SE, and a flywheel from idk where... I want to know how much I should be asking for a running, possibly rebuilt 13B T, and what else I may need to get to make this swap go as smooth as possible.

Wow thanks, this link is great help. Still how much should I pay for one of these motors? I've seen used JDM motos go for as low as 1100, but a friend of mine warned me that those can often be bad.

The price doesn't tell you much. The source of the engine is going to be much more important. A local importer, places what warranty the engine, or a forum vendor such as Japan2LA would be best. $1200-$1800 for engine and transmission seems to be the range. Upon receiving any used j-spec, it should be compression tested, then stripped down to the short block to be sure everything is ok. A rebuild is obviously not a bad idea, but that will double or triple your budget.
For what it's worth, the engine in my car is a j-spec. It has fantastic compression, doesn't smoke, doesn't overheat, and I've put 20,000 miles on it. But I could very well have received a blown engine. It's always a gamble.

Well thats just it though, alot of places dont have warranties for rotary engines. I was wondering if it would be better to get a lower milage/ rebuilt motor from someone through a forum? what do you think?

As I mentioned, you can contact Japan2LA to see what he has available. He's a forum vendor that imports Japanese parts and engines. Browse the classifieds if you want to see if anyone is selling an engine, but I'll let you know right now that's it's not very common to find someone selling a rebuilt long block.

Okay, well now I just gotta wait a little bit to save the money to buy the right motor. As for everything else, will there need to be any mods as far as subframe or anything like that? What if I go with the turbo transmission as well, I know you may have to modify the crossmember and get a custom driveshaft, but is there anything else I should prepare for?
