79 Engine stops

I just got our 79 Rx 7 last week so I,m new to the car. When we come to a stop the engine will stop running.

I have ordered a new set of plugs, fuel filter to start.

Thank you for any ideas up front Wayne'r

first off, welcome to the site. a new set of plugs is good but there's also the wires, cap, and rotor that it wouldn't hurt to replace. u may need some adjustments to the carb.

lol. The signature line (sig) is the information posted below what he actually wrote. For instance, my signature line tells about my car and has a link to autocross videos.

Update on the engine...I have put in new plugs, condencer, points. And it is running in idle ok but when I start to press the gas pedill it will bog down at first. Making it hard to start to move. Then it will stall some times between second and third gear if I take to long to shift.

Getting better but still have a ways to go.

Thanks Wayne'r

Have you checked out the link I posted? You should also investigate the possibility of a vacuum leak.

Best of luck.
