4 rotor
Hey all! A friend of mine is obsessed with the 4 rotor engine , that's all he talks about! I was just wondering if anybody here has any info or experience with it. Price? Ease of install? Any help of info would be appreciated.

There isn't a price I think
You can't buy an official 4 rotor engine
R26B is only on mazda prototype and you can't found it on a normal car like the 20B of the eunos cosmo
You have to custom build it, or buy from someone that have built it....
I think that price can exceed 20k dollars for a new engine
And with a 4 rotor beast you have to change lot of parts of your car....
But wait for someone more "skilled" XD

Well, in preparation he has already acquired an extra 13b- rew and he was talking about an Aussie site, he seems to think he just needs and eccentric shaft, a new centre section and a standalone, does that sound feasible at all?

And new ignition, injectors+rail. Fuel pump. Decent cooling system for oil and water. An ecu that can manage a 26B.
And think about a completly new trasmission and differential

well, there are many ways to skin a cat ... unfortunately, for this particular cat, none of the ways are cheap.
I've seen members, buy, build and fabricate 4 rotor engines - Sweden, Australia, Seattle, Miami (to name a few places). there are quite a few threads scattered around the board if you guys are really interested in getting an idea of what it can take.
shafts, tension bolts and kits for center bearings and stationaries are available. again, expectedly, quite expensive.

The 4-rotor engines are peripheral ported, and therefore really only good for the race track. Your friend is looking at about $30,000 to $40,000 USD for one of the Anzac engines, plus about that same amount for a transmission or transaxle, and maybe $10,000 to $30,000 USD or so in supporting components, not including labor costs. Ease of install would be pegged at the most difficult level on your scale, so you would need one of the top rotary shops to perform the work.
Here are links to the Anzac engines.

Xtreme Rotaries - 4 Rotor Engines
If your friend is a multi-millionaire, then he can contact Downing Atlanta to try to get an original R26B race engine, or an accurate reproduction of one. They would also be the best bet to build his race car if he decides to go with a less-expensive Anzac engine.

Oops, I forgot to add the PPRE link:
Rx7, Rx8, Mazda Rotary Engines, O ring, Race Car Engine Parts
No, that is for the cheaper 4-rotor engines that are made in Australia and New Zealand. I would think that a real R26B would sell for quite a bit more than that, but you would need to contact Downing Atlanta to see if they are willing to sell any of theirs and at what price.
