1st Gen New to FB's Have video with questions
My name is Brennan from the beaute state of Virginia.
I just purchased a 1982 Fb for $965 that needs body work and other miscellaneous stuff. Runs great otherwise,Seems way more quicker than 100hp 12A/2300lb car.
I came from messing with a few swapped honda's, My brother had an FC when I was a kid and I remember how fun it was riding in it.(If anyone recognizes this car from a member who had this car I would love to talk to them since there are only a handful around here!)
I've been screwing with cars for a few years but I'm new to Rotary motors and carbureted motors. I have a quick video with plugs and vacuum lines unplugged. I'd love some technical insight on it.
I know it has a racing beat header and K&N filter on it. Came with two tokico blues in a box lol, paint is a year or two old overall a great car with 135k miles on it
Symptoms:
*Cold start it idles harshly and smokes. Lobes from 500-1000 rpms
*Headlights shut off while driving it home after I purchased it(still have dash lights and blinkers)
*Leaks some fuel from a sandwich plate I think
*There is a part missing on the intake manifold( could be ann idle air vavle or something no clue)
Vacuum leak(I fixed two major ones by capping it off)
If you guys see anything out of place let me know this is my 2nd day ever looking at a rotary motor so I need some help. It seems like this car is decently modified and maybe had a motor rebuild since there were loose mounts, Cruise control isnt hooked up just by the cable and the starter connection was 1/4 of the way screwed in.
Tell me what you think Constructive Criticism is the best way to learn on forums
I pointed out most weird things about it just watch it and if you see anything out of place or incorrect.
That is on the passenger side in the engine bay connected to the intake manifold Something should bolt there
