Recently my interactions with people on this forum brought me to a gentleman who imports FD's and other cars from Japan. He sent me pictures I found in the link below,

...he offered the car at a price of $11,500 Shipped and Titled.

Does anyone know about these cars or having them imported? I just want to know what questions to ask and if this is a very shady sounding transaction.

 

Most JDM imports won't be legal. Some places can do some shady stuff to wash the title and get it titled but it ain't exactly legal. There have been many threads on this topic. There is always someone who insists it is legal and they've done it etc but last time I checked it wasn't legal.

 

I know that ad, I was looking at that one when I bought mine. Things been for sale over a year at least.

 

Honestly, that ad looks super fishy. Dont trust it

 

That's what I figured, the guy sounds like he's the real deal (willing to meet in person locally, show me some of his other JDM cars) but it just sounds too good to be true!!

 

I'd be more worried about the individual that says he can get you a car that can't be federally legal then the car itself.
