I don’t know if it’s the best way but I just recently did this by jacking the car up and draining from the radiator then refilled with some Prestone flush and distilled water let the car run for a couple minutes and just repeated process until fluid came out clean it took about 3-4 times but coolant level and temp have been solid since
Going to be hard to flush it without it running, you can drain most of the water from the radiator and side of the iron, but you’ll need to have it running to circulate any type of flush additive or even distilled water. Other than that you can just flush the radiator by keeping the drain plug out and just pouring the water through it until it becomes clear, but that’s only half the system

Even after following the above procedures you may still have a little air in the system. Open cap, refill with coolant, replace cap, squeeze hose several times, remove cap, refill and repeat until full. This is called burping the system.

There is a YouTube channel by ChrisFix that has tutorials that newbies like us would learn a lot from. I'm not sure how much of his information would apply to rotaries, but it's highly informative nonetheless.
ChrisFix is great. As a person who never learned how to take care of a car at all growing up, ChrisFix videos have taught me alot and I continue to reference his videos.
