1993 FD twin turbo starting issues
My dad has a 1993 touring twin turbo rx7 that he only takes out of storage once or so a year (7,xxx on the clock right now). This last time we went to jump it to move it, and it would not start despite keeping the jumpers hooked up for about 20 min or so. When I went to the tail pipe it didn't smell like exhaust, just gas. We are getting a new battery for it when we go out next time, but what else would cause this issue, and what else should we look for when taking the FD out of storage? The car is completely stock (even down to the tires) except for an air intake and exhaust. (I'm having to post this for him because he is still living in the stone age when it comes to computers)
Any help would be greatly appreciated

It is Flooded.
Take the plugs out and clean them or put in fresh plugs. When you take them out Roll the engine over about 20 seconds with the Fuel Injection Fuse OUT,that way no fuel gets put into the engine while you are trying to get it out.
Put in a good squirt of Oil in the spark plug holes and roll the engine over about 2-3c seconds.
Put the plugs back in and hook up wires correctly..Fuel Injection fuse Back IN.
Roll over car..it should start but it will SMOKE like no tomorrow,so beware if your neighbour is a Worry wart and likes calling the PO-PO on you!

def just flooded. I would just take all 4 plugs out and make sure you pay attention because there are 2 different types of plugs so make sure you put them back where they came from.
After you pull the plugs take the "EGI" fuse out of the fuse box and crank it over for approx 15-20 seconds. (this helps get all the fuel that caused the flooding out of the combustion chambers)
Put the plugs back in and make sure you have a good battery because it does take a lot of CCA's to get the motors to fire.
Hope this helps! Good luck
