Arrow 1992 FD3s Twin Turbo - Idle Misfire

Hi all.

I've been a member of this site for a while and I have FINALLY got myself an RX7. YAY!
(PICS to come in the Newbie section soon!)

Anyway, my car appears to have an issue whereby it is misfiring/hunting when idling (or under 2000RPM). When driving the car, hot or cold there is no misfire

Other than this issue there is also:
Left indicator (passenger side - it's a UK car) flashes very fast.
Rev gauge sometimes flicks up a couple of thousand revs but the engine is not reving any faster..clock issue?

Apart from the above she drives B-E-A-utifully and handles well.

I have searched the site up and down and googled it....I've found some advice regarding TPS and Earthing the engine to the body.

The car is going in for a service next month and for these faults to be checked, so if there any information (that I can understand...I'm a total noob to the rotary game) that anyone can give me?
You know what I mean," check this, check that"...any pictures would be most helpful.

I really appreciate it, thanks.

Please any simple advice is most welcome...

Further to this... Istarted her up last night after giving her a clean and it smelled very dtrong of petrol/gas...do you think this is because the misfire is not burning the fuel properly???

do you have a Power FC installed in it or any other aftermarket ECU? Some ECU's will lose their idle "programming" if the negative terminal is removed from the battery and then will have to relearn it. It happened on my buddies 92 RHD FD with the Power FC before getting it fully tuned. Just a thought

That is potentially dangerous. Search for Fuel Pulsation Dampener in the FAQ thread for fixes to this.

Regarding idle issues, the throttle body and/or the TPS (Throttle Positions Sensor) are the usual culprits. Check the FAQ thread for relevant threads on both of those issues.
