Hello! I was putting my quarter trim back on and saw this peculiar wire that seems to go from the inside pointing to the door, it has one singular blue wire and I was unsure how it sits in its presumed place, if anyone has any information I’d love your help. Pictures are below

Its for the door switch. There should be a short black nipple sticking out into the door jam. From the picture it looks like yours is gone. Look on the passenger side and hopefully you have one there. It's spring loaded and can sometimes fail and shoot its parts everywhere.

Thank you so much! Do you know if it’s necessary at all to buy new ones? Also did I mount it correctly on the other side of the hole? I see the picture you linked had something similar but opposite, are they supposed to touch when door closed?

 

theyre not necessary at all and yours is broken. look on the passenger side in the door jam and see if that one is present so you know what its supposed to look like
