1991 RX7 Powered Midget.
So I'm beginning a project that hasn't been done before. I'm putting a 1991 RX7 13b, into a 1975 MG Midget. Yes, Brian Kraus made the RX Midget, but he used a carbureted 13b, and I'm doing fuel injected. I have done a lot of searching around and from what I can tell, this is going to be the first Fuel Injected Rotary Midget. Anyways, I'll be driving the midget as it is until the current motor falls apart, as it has an engine knock I don't want to fix. Until then though I'll be spending my nights with the rotary. The first thing I'm doing to it, is removing all of the vacuum lines and such from the smog pump, but I have no idea on how to go about that. So my first question is, does anybody know of any guides, or kits for getting rid of the smog pump? and will I need to worry about the solenoids giving errors since I won't be using an RX-7 gauge panel or anything? Electronics are definitely going to be one of the biggest challenges for me here, since I bought the motor already pulled, so I have no idea how all of the wiring is supposed to be. (I learn this stuff by taking apart, which I didn't get to do in this case.
Anyways, any help is greatly appreciated! Thankyou in advance!

This sounds awesome! Would love to see pictures!
Be careful with the smog / air pump, because it runs alot of important solenoids on the S5 motors. Even though you wont get dash errors, many of them are important for correct combustion. might want to go with a more stand alone engine control setup to counteract those issues

I also have a Midget, but not with a rotary. I would leave the smog pump, you want to change as little as possible until it is all working, then consider changes.
The G10 I put in my midget was EFI, and it required very time consuming tracing of all wires to connect the EFI computer and other connections. In the end it was simple, but only after you've figured it all out.

Since you'll be using an S5, here's some info about emission "removal".

If you can find an S4 motor, I would recommend getting one, since you can remove virtually all o the emissions and air pump, along with the MOP, without throwing codes are having problems. S4 block with S5 rotors (higher compression) and you're usually set.

13B into mg midget. Fuel injected - already done and wired
Have a 76 with engine, transmission, and rear installed and just about wired for firing up, In order to get the 13b into the engine bay and sit low enough you will have to mod the frame rails and a small amount of cutting on the pass side footwell. You are right as the wiring is the bugger with the stock set up and I have been tempted to go with the weber but have held off, too much cash. Its been two years in the making and if you want or need assistance give ne a enail.
