1991 GTU starts, will not idle, runs SUPER RICH
Hello, my name is PJ and I have an RX-7 with some issues/missing parts/bad parts.

I know its missing power steering, and air conditioning- I have those parts on hand.
I will attempt to describe the symptoms of the engine:
easy ignition, the car starts very well.
It will not idle, the car will flirt with 2k for a few moments then give up entirely.
Loud, the car is louder than a lawnmower, with soft pops.
After running the car for only a few moments you will smell fuel on your cloths for the entire day.
I am thinking that it is only a few bad/missing sensors and the actuators on the TPS sensors.

It sounds like you've got more than one problem here, but I had some similar symptoms recently. After a lot of looking, I found that the TPS connectors were very corroded so there was essentially no connection to the TPS. Maybe try cleaning that first, set the TPS to 1V, and see if anything improves. I also had the super rich fuel smell. On my car, I replaced the water temp sensor (the one on the water pump) then set the air fuel mix per the service manual. Hope this helps.

in my car that was caused by a bad switching solenoid valve which was causing a vacuum problem. Mine's an 88 though, I'm not sure your car even has one.
