FD3S cooling suggestions
hi guys so I was thinking about upgrading the cooling of my 13b tt. I was thinking of purchasing the apexi twin intake and getting an fmic, now with these upgrades would it be recommended that I tune car with an apexi power fc? If so does anyone know where i can find downloadable maps for these upgrades? Thank you

Cooling would be Radiator related wouldn't it?You are just letting the car Breathe better with a better intake and supplying cooler intake temps with a Intercooler.
PFC section may have some tips on your Maps, but honestly I would not "bank on" anything that is just downloadable,..only a Tuner can give you what you need..
If you do it right it will work,,and that means getting a tuner to do YOU right!

If you're intent is to improve cooling, a FMIC is counter-productive. You're placing a huge IC in front of your radiator and A/C condensor. On a streeted car, a FMIC is exposed to road hazards, requires alot more fab work, more plumbing, compromises crash worthiness and unless you do the work yourself...more expensive. IMO, there are decent SMIC alternatives that provide decent IATs without all the issues.
Re: Cooling...a quality all-metal radiator, a metal AST (or properly delete it), as much water to fresh coolant that you can get away with in your climate, replace belts, hoses, cap(s) and t-stat so they're in good shape, and maybe replace the fan thermoswitch with an S5 for a lower threshold (search the 3rd Gen. section for more details). Those should keep your temps where they should be. If you get ambitious and only have one oil cooler, the second from an R model can be added. And then you can consider auxillary injection.
Re: the Apex'i intake. It's...alright. But I'm not really a fan of open intakes that souce air from under the hood rather than ambient air.
Re: The PFC, generally speaking, if you keep boost at stock levels, the stock ECU is adequate. While a PFC has other advantages...you don't absolutely need it.
