1990 GTU fuel problems - not starting up

no your fuel pump only turns on when you are starting or running the engine. it will not pump even with the key in "on" position if the engine is not running.

hey, we found the problem actually, it turns out my fuel pump is completely dead, we have checked it once, but we haven't done that since, we must have relieved the pressure when we checked it, ill update in the case that the fuel pump isnt the solution

are you sure? it will ONLY turn on when you are cranking or the engine is running. otherwise there is a wire that you need to jump in order to make it turn on with the key in the on position.

yes we are sure we put the wire in the yellow imput so it would and it till did not pump any fuel(yes theres gas in the tank lol) so we are going to change the pump sock and fuel filter. Thanks for the help guy we will keep you posted.

Hmm... Fuel pump is not dead, we hooked up to a battery to double check, it works

i couldn't be bothered to read 6 months worth of posts. the ethanol tells you that you have a fuel problem. you just said it's not the pump, so cross that out and check the other components in the fuel delivery system.

new fuel? (not old *** gas been sitting for a year) is your fuel sock clean? new fuel filter? how are your injectors spraying? these are just ideas of things you might wanna check out.

lol 6 months of post its only 2 pages plus eric again just cuase you kooked up the pump to a battery and it went dosnt mean it is actually pumping fuel plus when it is int the car and we hooked up the pressure reader to the fuel pump we got nothing so it has to ether be elctrical or weak pump.

I realize that, but you get more views/ideas on the situation by asking, and Joel has seen a lot of pumps, and he said that by the way it ran for the few seconds we had it hooked to the battery, it was still strong. He suggested maybe a clog in the fuel line, shitty gas, or the injectors might not be working properly.
