FL 1988 RX7 FC N/A coolant hose issue ?

Good morning,

Blew a hose driving home the other day. Was real close so I was able to nurse it home. Engine never overheated. Question is the hose seems to be on the back side of the engine right below the throttle body on the passenger side. This hose seems to come off from there and go to a metal line with a cone shaped device on it. I'm about 99% sure this is the line that blew, used a mirror and it looks to have a leak in it. Its a really tight space so I want to make sure i have the proper line before i pull it. I have looked over the service manual and online and can not seem to find a blow up of this area to confirm what I am looking at is in fact a coolant line.

Thanks in advance.

Cart Price Check Part:13-680A-N326

can't find any older fisches, but that is the hose from the rear iron to the throttle body.

The line seems to go from the iron down to that cone shaped device which turns to hard tube and then below the car towards the Tranny? Doesn't seem to go from the throttle body to the iron but it could. Hard to follow.

i think you are talking about the split air pipe hose, which carries no coolant. you're just seeing the effects of gravity as a result of the hose i listed failing.

Ok, thanks. ill have to get in there and have a better look. Can this be changed without pulling the intake? Seems pretty tight back there.

not really worth the effort to try, if it had a worm clamp holding it and the head was in the correct spot, perhaps.. with the spring clamps though, just pull the UIM.

Sounds good, need to check and fix the ground under there anyway to see if i can clear up the 3800rpm hesitation. More of the reason to pull it and go the easier route then.

Thanks again
