87 t2 with s5 intake s4 throttle body, tips on reconnecting the metering pump rod

I finally got my 87 t2 running and I now am faced with trying to reconnect the omp rod back onto the throttle body. It came with an s5 intake and an s4 throttle body. Any tips on how to connect it back? Thank you

S4 and S5 turbo intake manifolds are interchangeable. The S4 throttle body has a linkage with a hole for the rod. Feed the rod through the hole, stack a little washer and a cotter pin/safety wire to secure.

Awesome, thank you for the response. My omp rod must be bent then but I wanted to make sure before I go spend unnecessary money. Thanks again

It may also be upside-down or just needs to spin around a bit.
