1987 Rx7 Question?
I've been going bac and forth with this guy about buying his 1987 Rx7. It in great condition, but he says you can drive it as far as you can, but once you turn it off, you have to wait another 45 minutes. He turned it on for me, shut it off, then turned it back on and it wouldn't. Does anyone know why it could be doing this? I was thinking maybe he's not keeping it on or doing anything enough to move the lubricants around. Maybe a pressure valve? I'm new to Rotary engines, so i don't know much about them yet.

Common hot-start problems. Basically, when warm, the amount of fuel delivered on start up is in excess. Too much fuel = flooding. For some cars this is a constant problem, but others tend to not have it happen at all. In some cases, dirty fuel injectors can leak after the engine is shut off and make the problem worse. The most common "fix" people use is a fuel pump switch to turn off fuel delivery momentarily during cranking.
