1987 fc swap

Have a 1987 fc 13b n/a swapping in the 13bt

I have two questions :
Does the 13b tranny work on the 13bt engine ?
And what do I do about my rear end ? Do I have to replace the whole thing ?

you need to start your searching as this gets asked every day.
The trans will hook up but you need the Flywheel to match the TRANS.also the starter and Slave.
so if the engine is TII and the trans is N/A you use the M/A Flywheel,starter,N/A slave.N/a Clutch and pressure plate.
The Drive shaft needs to match the TRANS at least in the front flange(tail section of Trans)
they make a conversion shaft to go from TII trans to N/A DIff..if you decide to do that.
Really I would just change everything. All TII components..that way you are golden.

and as far as what to do about your REAR END?....wear bigger pants!!,..those tight ones make your *** look fat!...(ahhahahaahhaa!)

did this swap myself I also recommend changing everything. youll need t2 flywheel of a matching series so counterweights are good, t2 trans to support the added power, t2 drive shaft again power so you dont spin it like tin, t2 diff couple of reasons better LSD and the T2 motor will tear an NA up under WOT (doable with normal driving but youll need a custom driveshaft so pretty pointless) , and lastly t2 half shafts strength and well the NA ones wont mesh to the T2 Diff. the Diff is a royal pain in the *** FYI but if you ever want to zoom zoom youll need to replace it. also there is a slight tooth difference from NA flywheel to T2 Flywheel very slight but the starter has to sit in a different position on the transmission in order to function. i had the t2 starter when i did mine i dont know if its absolutley necessary though since they are so close in teeth gapping. good luck.
