I have a 1984 GSL SE and am experiencing P/S fluid coming out of filler cap during operation. I am also experiencing a (growling) noise from the system. The P/S is currently working, but I'm not sure what the issue is. I have been told that it's my pump and one garage told me it's my gear box. I think there is (control vale body) near the gear box, could it be that? Can I disconnect my current P/S system and go with manual steering? If yes what do I need to do with the P/S pump?
